Election History from 12-28-2009

In 2008 we had a turnout of 131 Million People to the voting booth. 50 years ago we had only 62 Million show up to the election of 1956 between Dwight Eisenhower and Adlai Stevenson. This was actually a high percentage of the workforce compared to the population size versus today. In 1956, 66 million people were of working age(equally negate the 16 start age), per a population size of 110 million. In 2008, 154 Million people were of working age, per a population size of 233 million.

In 1956 we had a 93% turnout based on working age people, and in 2008 we only had an 85% turnout.

These percentages of course are less when people from the military and retired people added to the count.

The closer election battles lie in the 1800s with 1824 and 1876 standing out in the crowd.

Almost 7 billion people in the world. Where are we all going to go?

President Barack Obama: 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner

It is not uncommon to have the President of the United States be the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Theodore Roosevelt was the winner of the 1906 award and the first President to receive this honor. Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter have also won this award. Other heads of state have had the pleasure of being Nobel Peace Prize Winners, such as Mikhail Gorbachev. Since President Obama’s administration has been in charge we have made strong efforts to engage in peace. Our goal in Iraq is being accomplished, as we have succeeded in maintaining secure elections for the public. There will always be abuses of the law, and these must be handled by a judicial system. We have set the stage for the Iraqi people to regulate themselves without oppression. The United States has dedicated its peace process to Afghanistan. We will allocate 30,000 more Americans to help develop a system of free government without oppression. President Obama has taken a firm stance against Israel’s expansion of Jewish Settlements. I believe if we are to aggressively stand against sectarian violence, it should include Israel and curtail their greedy measures of expansion. There should be a renegotiation of the United Nation’s Partition Plan that was developed in 1948 with no regard to current land owners. A faulty basis of History, “a covenant with a supreme being”, does not give a group of people the right to displace another. President Obama has taken a message of freedom and peace to the United Nations at large, and to individual nations. Even with the token Peace prize given to Al Gore, let’s goto the Himalayan Beach and surf 100 feet waves, we can see at least a bit of realism with Barack Obama depending on whose point of view you are looking from. If President Obama can bring peace to the World that would be great, then we can get back to fighting the enemies that do not care what color or religion we are. There are things like Bacteria and Viruses who do not care who we are at all. We are just part of their cycle of life. With proper research we can obtain the answers we need in defeating these enemies. I believe human kind can reach the next level of evolution in where we understand we are all human, we just look different and like different things. No Taxes on Elements!
