Coach K and his Blue Devils have claimed the ultimate prize in college basketball, The 2010 NCAA National Championship! They grabbed the hate and turned it into the motivation to achieve greater things. All season long they had been underrated and never achieving a #1 ranking in the polls. The other #1s in the tournament all went down slowly but surely only leaving Duke making the Final Four. With people saying, Go Bears, Go Boilermakers, Go Bears, Go Mountaineers, and finally Go Bulldogs, Duke pulled their sneakers on tight and put each of these teams to rest. Giving Coach K his 4th title, puts the Devils only 1 back from UNC in total titles. This team worked together as a cohesive unit leaving no one to be the weakest link. The title game was very close, closer than I would have liked, but Butler is definitely no Cinderella team. They will be in contention just the the Blue Devils next year. If Kyle Singler will give the Blue Devils one more year, I believe they can make it back to back championships! I believe he will stay simply because he definitely will not go Top 10, and if he can improve his stats he will command a higher salary next year versus what he may or may not get this year. Getting a little stronger and proving himself to be a leader on the team will also increase his value. I am happy that my bracket came to life in which I fill out Duke to the Championship, then fill out the rest. Even through all the hate, with Duke won't make the Sweet 16, Duke won't make the Elite 8, and Duke won't make the Final Four, Duke showed that they are a strong team and can persevere through it all. It's funny how the people who said Duke won't get past the second round said, if Duke doesn't win it all.. well you know.. more hate. Keep the hate coming... WE'RE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! GO DUKE!!!
And don't forget back-to-back ACC Champions!!
