NASA watches the sun very well. The sun has been very very quiet for some time. As humans we need to be able to adapt to the ever changing environment around us. We need to be able to survive any outside condition, whether it be heat or cold. Improving our self contained environmental capabilities will give humans the ability to survive extreme conditions. We have a good understanding of the body and what it enjoys and how to maintain that. We should be able to do this in a self contained area that can exist in extreme areas. The Globe will cool. The Globe will get warm. We need to be able to adapt.
The Winter of Jan 2010 is a cold one. I wonder if it has to do with the Sun being really quiet. The better we understand the science of space, the more able we are to adapt to the changes.
