Letter to NC Legislature on Senator Rand's Required Community Service for Graduation of College

Dear Ms. Kinnard,
Thank you for your service to Person County. Thank you for giving the avenue of communication to your constituents. I am writing to discuss the bill that Senator Rand is trying to push through the NC Senate about requiring students to have *20 hours of community service per semester* before they can receive their bachelor's degree. I think this bill is disgusting. Forced Servitude should not be allowed to be pushed through the Senate of North Carolina. Community Service is given to criminals in leiu of jail time. Why are we trying to treat our future college graduates like criminals? 20 hours a semster equals up to 160 hours of community service for a 4 year college term. I hope you do not support this initiative of forced servitude, because requiring people to do community service for trying to educate themselves is appalling. The lack of foresight in regards to lower college attendance in North Carolina based on peoples unwillingness to send their children to colleges who force children to work, is just a generalization of the negligence that this bill brings forth. If this bill would pass, I would definitely send my child to any college that does not require community service to receive his bachelor's degree. The fact is that required equals forced, and community service is work. We should not be forcing our children to do work, no matter what that work may be. I agree there is a problem growing in our youth in focus and deliquency, but we should not be forcing college students to address this issue. Mentoring children is a definite positive for our society, but forcing people to do it should not be an option. Being a good steward to the public in general should be something that someone has the freedom to chose. Requiring community service without financial compensation should not be considered. Your stewardship to the community is rewarded monetarily, and you are not forced into your position. I think this bill directly violates a person's freedom to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Thanks for your time.

NASCAR: Coca-Cola 600 5-25-008

The longest race of the season was definitely exciting. From the great run that Jr. had and lost the lead with a tire going down. Way to go to that #88 team on getting a Top 5 finish, even with it being in fuel mileage territory. They did have the car to beat for the night, and was up front all night. I think there are plenty of good cars out there that needs good drivers, so there is future in NASCAR. With all the field fillers out there, like Kyle Petty and JJ Yeley, there are plenty of good cars that need good drivers. I mean the 25 car is on an awesome team, and when Tony leaves the 20 car, that will be a good car up for grabs. Kudos to Elliot Sadler, he is a good driver who doesn't get much attention. With Evernham picking up his program, I think there is a good future with some good racing to come!

Letter to Brad and Britt, local talk radio hosts on 101.1 WZTK on the Price of Oil

Good Morning Gentlemen,

I think it would behoove you guys more, if you stated the bigger picture. While we consider ourselves winning this "War on Terror", I believe the upper hand has been given to the people who support the terrorists. If you guys are educated, you understand that OPEC plays a large part in determining the "Price" of oil. Look at what OPEC is. OPEC was started in 1949 by Venezuela, in order to converse with other major oil producing countries. The following are OPEC member states: IRAN, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Libya, Angolia, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Venezuela. We can critize the oil companies as barons, and gougers all you want, but in reality their statements are true in the fact that their profit margins are in line with other major areas. A barrel of oil is 42 gallons, and at even 100 dollars a barrel that is over 2 dollars a gallon. Don't forget to add in your 75 cents in gas tax. So, to relate this to your topic today, if people want to see the infrastructure of the United States of America fail, what would be the easiest way? For the countries who are members of OPEC, who have a large role in determining the price of oil, it would be to raise the price of oil, so that companies in America would fail, for example the Airline Industry, which is spiraling down to where only 1 or 2 companies can survive. Instead of the airlines directly addressing their own incompetent business practices by raising the cost of the ticket to accomodate their overhead, they would rather nickel and dime, and file bankcruptcy, or rely on the government to bail them out. Flying is a luxury, and it should have a luxury price tag. Bitt's statement of the Skybus plane that was only 4 days old, right before they went bankcrupt, really only proves the fact of how incompetance causes failure in business. If you are hurdling down the road of debt, would you go buy a new car? Not only is the price of gas affecting major companies, but it is affecting every American in respect of costing more to get to work, as well as costing more to eat food. So not only does the increase in the price of oil directly affect major corporations, it affects the common man, and this an indirect attack on America and America's way of Life. I'm sure that Iran and Venezeula have America's best interest at heart when they push for higher oil prices, right? Thank you for your time.

Is the United States a Police State?

Think about this, you have to have permission to protest, even though it's a given right in your constitution. You should not have to have permission to do something that is a right given to you by the framers of the law of the land. The government is trying to make a carbon tax. This is a tax on AIR. Think about that. Watch this video for more information.

Letter to the Vice President on Senator Biden

Dear Mr. Vice President,

I agree with the non-negotiation and non-communication with Iran, until complete transperancy of their Nuclear program. Great job to this administration on recognizing this threat to National Security. I suggest we deal with Senator Biden in a straight forward way. Arrange for him to have a meeting with the President of Iran, and make sure, that all they talk about is "Schindler's List", or "Diary of Anne Frank", or perhaps he should just take along with him some photos of the Nazi Concentration Camps. Perhaps when Senator Biden gets laughed out of Iran, if he actually makes it out of Iran, he will change his mind on how to deal with people who have a specific evil agenda.

Personal Change in Foreign policy in regards to the above statement:

1. Any American should not be afraid to travel in the world today.
2. The American Armed Forces will rescue any American abroad in any danger by any means.
3. We will only do business with nations who will maintain peace and freedom as a national standard.
4. The only foreign aid we will be giving will be humanitarian and physical. No Financial Help.

Letter to NC Senators about Housing Legislation

Thank you for giving the avenue of contact to your office. I am writing in response to the recent housing legislation presented to the Senate that was passed by the House. These two items, S2636 and S2488, are just more methods of facilitating more complexity into a system that needs to be simplified. By no means should the United States Government enter into affairs of the corporate world. Instead of creating an avenue where these lending practices should be punished, we want to bail out the banks who have created this crisis in the first place. The mortgage process is unfair to anyone. We cap out small loans at between 22 and 29 percent, yet we allow banks to to make more than 100% on their loans. If we want to truely do something for the American Public, we should be curbing banks profit margins on these loans. As a homeowner, it is disheartening to know that I will be paying $175,000 for an $80,000 loan, with no choice in the matter. I do not agree with bailing out people who are struggling with forclosure, or have forclosed house. I have picked up a second job to accomodate the lack of income presented to me with the rise of food costs, as well as gas costs. Our nation does not need more legislation/regulation in hopes of bailing corporations out of failures and bad practices. These companies need to be punished with the simple fact that they have done bad business, and have lost money. It is their fault. We should have compassion with people who have lost their homes due to the poor economy, which is a result of more corporate greed by transferring their businesses over to China causing major jobloss in America. We should be focusing on punishing companies who do this practice, and make it more expensive to have businesses overseas, that provide product to the American People. You should be focusing on the agenda of moving our economy forward. We should not be wasting time bailing out people who have or are in the process of losing their homes, with "Insurance" type policies. The United States government should be getting out of the "Bail Out" business. It is not the responsibilty of the government to babysit the public in their personal affairs. It is not the responsibility of the government to fix everyone's mistakes. It definitely should not be the business of government to bail out major corporations, for example the airline bailout several years ago. The government should get out of the business of giving away money to corporations no matter what effect it might have on the economy. If our economy is in such a bad shape, why are we not pushing for a second economic stimulus package? Nancy Peloski has already made mention of supporting another stimulus package, lets hold her to that! As slow as you guys run the government, that check would come right in time for Christmas! If we are going to do anything for the American Public we should be fighting in the arena of tightening the abuses of the monetary system by the banks. We should be attempting to make the process more fair for everyone. We should not be in "competition" with banks, with such federal programs like the FHA, or HUD. Let's fix this banking system to be fair for the consumer, and not overwhelmingly favorable for the banks. Our United States Constitution gives us the right to coin and maintain a monetary system. Why are you not fighting for the abolishment of the Federal Reserve, private banking system? This would give us more control over our Dollar. The US Dollar should be maintained by the US Government. By wasting time presenting these frivilous bills, you are continuing to expand government into an arena that it does not belong. As a republican, the conservative values your platform respresents are being overrun by the desire to expand and make government as big as possible. This is not acceptable. Thank you for your time.

Senator Dole's website only allows a 2500 word submission, so she did not get the full letter.

Plane Hits Empire State Building!!

At 9:49 a.m., the ten-ton, B-25 bomber smashed into the north side of the Empire State Building. The majority of the plane hit the 79th floor, creating a hole in the building eighteen feet wide and twenty feet high. The plane's high-octane fuel exploded, hurtling flames down the side of the building and inside through hallways and stairwells all the way down to the 75th floor.
World War II had caused many to shift to a six-day work week; thus there were many people at work in the Empire State Building that Saturday. The plane crashed into the offices of the War Relief Services of the National Catholic Welfare Conference. Catherine O'Connor described the crash:
The plane exploded within the building. There were five or six seconds - I was tottering on my feet trying to keep my balance - and three-quarters of the office was instantaneously consumed in this sheet of flame. One man was standing inside the flame. I could see him. It was a co-worker, Joe Fountain. His whole body was on fire. I kept calling to him, "Come on, Joe; come on, Joe." He walked out of it.2 Joe Fountain died several days later. Eleven of the office workers were burned to death, some still sitting at their desks, others while trying to run from the flames.
One of the engines and part of the landing gear hurtled across the 79th floor, through wall partitions and two fire walls, and out the south wall's windows to fall onto a twelve-story building across 33rd Street. The other engine flew into an elevator shaft and landed on an elevator car. The car began to plummet, slowed somewhat by emergency safety devices. Miraculously, when help arrived at the remains of the elevator car in the basement, the two women inside the car were still alive.
Some debris from the crash fell to the streets below, sending pedestrians scurrying for cover, but most fell onto the buildings setbacks at the fifth floor. Still, a bulk of the wreckage remained stuck in the side of the building. After the flames were extinguished and the remains of the victims removed, the rest of the wreckage was removed through the building.
The plane crash killed 14 people (11 office workers and the three crewmen) plus injured 26 others. Though the integrity of the Empire State Building was not affected, the cost of the damage done by the crash was $1 million.

This happened July 28, 1945. And the Empire State Building stands to this day.

Interesting that MLK and JFK were both assassinated.

Racing Saturday Night! Darlington - 05-10-2008

Racing was pretty slack tonight with the top ten hardly ever changing. Kudos to Travis Kvapil for finishing in the Top 10! Junior comes away with a 4th place finish. He lead some laps. We're still not even halfway through the season yet, and TV is already talking about the chase, and whose going to make it. Terrible. Next week Charlotte, AllStar Race!

My First Win on GT5P Online!

My first win! Daytona of course! 8 beers deep, and I still pulled it off. In my black Z06 I
adjusted my settings so I would start up front. I was highest aero allow, like 87 on points
in weight, and +3 on horsepower. But I really think the win came from starting at 5th
position because my PP was 746. I was in 3rd for most of the race, and had the winners not
touched, I probably wouldn't have been able to break the middle and shoot right through them
to the win! It's still my first win, and I am happy to receive those 50k credits. This just
proves that Daytona is nothing to win, as long as you know how to PLAY THE GAME. Bring on
the fullGT5!!! I want Nurenburgring!

My Post on JihadWatch.org about Yemen being a US Ally

Perhaps Yemen is a key US ally in the fact that perhaps we have many CIA agents over there or something? I know that Yemen is a terror watch country defined by the State Department. So officially Yemen is not a US ally. To remain a great superpower, we must control the middle east. The only way to control the middle east is militarily. The only way to control stupid people who believe in someone who loved to kill is to stick a gun in their face and force them into living normally, until they live normally without the gun in their face. We have dove directly into a war between two groups of people "Shia and Sunni" who are arguing over who is a caliph and who is not, 600 years ago! We cannot allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons because the ignorance of their government is self-evident. An ignorant government cannot be allowed to have Nuclear Weapons, under no circumstances. We have the ability to squash this type of ignorance, unfortunately the American Public in general cannot handle such an undertaking. People get upset that 4,000 people have died in 5 years of war, yet remembering that these soldiers are part of a broad solution, and they are fighting for the 3,000 people that died in one day. Wake up America, I have never seen so many people of Arabic decent, not all Arabs are muslim, in America my whole life. If we are not careful, we could end up like Turkey or Sudan who allow their elected officials to be radical. It also only takes 1 person to cause havoc, example VT Massacre, and that count was only limited because of the amount of ammo he had. Stop being defenseless. We won the Revolutionary War because every citizen was ready to defend their property. Are you ready to defend your property, and way of life?

Racin' Saturday Night! RIchmond, 05-03-2008

What a great race! Congratulations Clint Bowyer. Dale Jr, had that race till Kyle Busch took him out on 3 laps to go. Guess it shows how crappy of a driver he is. Adding to his ignorance was his post race interview comments. So I guess it'll be another year or so before he grows up. Darlington Under the lights! Lets go racing boys!
