Letter to the White House

I hope the White House will stand up for Free Speech. Currently the politics of the world are condemning and banning works of art whether it be sculptures, books, paintings, or videos. The Secretary-General of the United Nations condemned the video: Fitna. I hope the United States government does not take the same stance. I hope the United States government talks to the UN, and remind them that people have a right to express their views. The UN is such a weak organization currently, no one cares what they say anyway. The Average American could not tell you who the Secretary-General of the UN is. People have the right not to watch certain things that may offend them. No one has the right to tell someone what to think. Freedom of Speech allows the person to express how they feel and think. I still think that we need a better publicity push for the American People in support of the War. People have forgotten why we are fighting this war. They need to be reminded with a Special on what happened on 9/11. I am impressed that we have only lost 4,000 soldiers in the 5 years of war. And I say only in 5 years, because we lost 2500 civilians in less than 3 hours on one day on September 11, 2001. We are not treating our military properly. The health services have improved for active duty soldiers, but the veterans are the ones who are suffering. We still need to provide our veterans with better benefits across the board. Please stand up for the Freedom of Speech, and don’t forget the importance of our Veterans. Thank you for the economic stimulus package, call out Nancy Peloski who stated she would send out another check if needed. Who does not need any extra money that is available? Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Paul Michael Owens
